We will hold one camping trip, October 23-25. Scouts will have to sleep 1-per-tent, or with a sibling or parent. Tents cannot be shared with non-family members. Scouts who have their own personal tent will be encouraged to use that instead of a troop tent. Troop tents will be available for those who need to borrow one, and those Scouts will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting the tent before it is returned to the Quartermaster. Cooking will be done in individualized format. Scouts will be responsible for bringing and cooking their own meals. Guidance and suggestions will be shared in advance (think oatmeal, apples, backpacking meals). We cannot carpool while maintaining social distancing so the camping trip will be held locally at the Izaak Walton League and each family will need to drop-off/pick-up their Scout at the campsite.
Troop 1988 has developed a plan for socially distant in-person meetings through December 2020.
We are also open to new members and families who are seeking an outlet for activities and socializing for boys ages 11-17.
Troop activities follow guidance provided by the BSA, the CDC, and the Montgomery County department of Health. Contact the Troop Adult leadership for more details.
