Non registered users
This site makes use of cookies and IP address tracking to bring content to the user and to track user interactions with the site to improve navigation and content. Most tracking log files are purged after 3 days. Aggregated data for page visits is retained indefinately until manually cleared.
The website hosting service retains IP access logs in accordance with their own policies for purposes of server and website performance, and security monitoring.
Registered users
In accordance with COPA legislation, registered users must be 13 years of age or older.
In accordance with guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America, no youth members are permitted to create an individual account on this system. The Troop’s designated youth Webmaster may have an account and the ability to edit and maintain parts of this website.
Registered users, 18 years of age or older, in addition to the forms of tracking described above, will also be providing personally identifying information including name and email address. In doing so, you permit Troop 1988 to use this information to contact you, both for issues related to this site, and for the offline activities, events, and operation of Troop 1988.
Troop 1988 shall not sell your information collected by this site to any 3rd parties. Your information may be provided to the Boy Scouts of America or the National Capital Area Council as necessary to manage your relationship with the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 1988 shall also comply with court orders compelling information disclosure to appropriate authorities or legal plaintiffs or for any background investigations of the Boy Scouts of America.
